NYS Codes

The Town of Geddes, by local law, has adopted “The Codes of New York State”

This building code was adopted by New York State in July 2002 and is in affect as of January 1 2003.  The new code, is similar to the international building code with some New York State enhancements. It becomes a more unified code throughout the nation.

The NYS Code is broken down into several categories:

• Residential code

• Fire code

• Building code

• Housing Maintenance code

• Energy code

• Plumbing code

• Mechanical code

• Fuel gas code
