On October 7th, 2025 our Walberta Park Elementary SRO, Officer Tripp, held the 2nd annual First Responder Day for our students at Walberta. The students and staff were able to meet and talk with First Responders from Geddes Police Dept, Solvay Fire Dept., Camillus Police Dept, New York State Police, Syracuse Police Dept, New York State Park Police, Onondaga County Emergency Management and AMR Ambulance. The students were able to see some of the equipment (police cars, fire trucks, ambulance, etc). The goal is to build positive relationships between students and First Responders. Teaching students that First Responders are safe adults that they may become familiar with and trust in the event of an emergency. It was reported that all had an amazing learning and interactive experience.
