Please note that all court records are a matter of “public record.” However, there are certain items within court files that are not allowed to be released. Such as:
- Pre-Sentence Reports
- Judge’s Notes
- Sealed records pursuant to CPL 160.50 and Article 720
- Victim identity if alleged offense is of a sexual nature
- RAP Sheets
- Motorist abstracts
Otherwise all records are considered “public record” and are not subject to FOIL request rules.
