Fire tragedies in Rhode Island and Chicago remind us of the importance of Code Enforcement and fire inspections.
Fire inspections are necessary to protect the life safety and welfare of the general public that occupy any particular commercial building.
The inspections include reviewing exit capacity, exit signs, emergency lighting, smoke alarms, alarm systems and other appropriate fire safety practices.
New York State Regulations require that every public place of assembly be inspected yearly and all non-residential buildings and multiple dwellings be inspected al least once every three years.
