Welcome Message from Supervisor LaFex

Best wishes for a Healthy and Happy New Year to all of our Town of Geddes residents!

Being newly elected to serve as Supervisor in the Town of Geddes is truly an honor.  With my six years of board experience serving during the period of “It’s a New Day”, the Town of Geddes has emerged and made progress becoming noticed by Onondaga County, NYS and the federal government.  Our grants continue to grow with almost 2 million dollars already committed and several outstanding proposals awaiting decisions.  These grants represent the confidence other layers of government have concerning our town.  It is a vibrant time seeing us maximize and grow resources, programs and businesses here.  It is our board’s goal to continue to propel us forward as the potential for the greater Central New York economy is very promising.

The recently implemented GeddesCC.com website reinforces our pledge to support businesses in our community.  Please visit us often to see what we have to offer, what promotions are occurring and what businesses are highlighted.  Let us all pledge to remember our local businesses throughout the year.

Along the way, we need to face and resolve our challenges.  Infrastructure concerns, project expenses, employee costs, building maintenance and an overall look at our community’s resources must be addressed.  We are looking at a multi-pronged approach.  My commitment to you is to keep our residents informed and encourage participation through active communication.  We welcome you to attend board meetings, observe committee gatherings, utilize email or call us to communicate and ask questions.  Our greatest resources come from our residents while our best plans come from collaborative input.

In closing, I wish to thank Supervisor Gerald Albrigo for his service to the Town of Geddes.  An instrumental and effective leader guiding our board to navigate difficult times and steer us into becoming a community ready for the future, we wish him all the best as he begins a new chapter.

It is indeed a New Day in a New Year with some new board members, Councilor Jon Lorber and Councilor Alanna Zimmer – Redmond, joining us.  Let us work together to make our community reach its potential for the good of our residents!

Sincerely,

Susan LaFex
