Memorial Day Ceremony

After being informed that no Memorial Day ceremony would take place this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Town of Geddes Council along with the Village of Solvay Mayor and Trustees, felt it was too important of a tradition to not have (a very brief) ceremony with a small gathering, to remember and honor those who served and died for our Country’s freedom.
At 10 am on May 25, 2020, Village of Solvay Mayor Derek Baichi, Deputy Mayor John Fall, Deputy Supervisor Ed Weber and Supervisor Jerry Albrigo, will lay wreaths on the Soldiers and Sailors moment at Woods Road Park in Solvay. Per the Governor’s guidelines, a maximum of 10 people will be assembled at the monument. You can attend but most follow COVID-19 safety guidelines, specifically, wearing a mask and 6 feet distance from others.
