Accredited by the New York State Law Enforcement Accreditation Council:

The New York State Law Enforcement Accreditation Council granted accreditation status to the Geddes Police Department in October of 2001.

The department was inspected in June of 2001 and found to be in compliance with all applicable standards. The inspection was a three-day event conducted by a three-person panel from around the state.

Geddes was the 87th police agency in the state to become accredited and the 12th in Onondaga County.

We were reassessed in October 2012 and were approved for re-accreditation status in December 2012 by the New York State Law Enforcement Accreditation Council. This will expire in December 2016.
